Who Am I

My name is Dominic Micer.  Originally from the Washington, DC area I am currently located in Westville, Indiana, where I teach at Purdue University North Central, a branch campus of Purdue University.  I received my Ph. D. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where I studied Rhetoric, Composition and Critical Theory.  My purpose for writing this blog is to think through the differing notions involved with taxing the rich.  I'm curious to explore the ideological motivations behind statements for and against taxation.  Particularly, I'm curious about the shift of understanding that occurred between the 1930's when taxation was often discussed as the neighborly responsibility and the current moment when taxation is defined as a burden.   How does such a shift occur?  What created the shift?  What maintains this shift?  I hope to come up with some answers for these questions.
